Versace

On December 2, 1946 in Calabria (Italy) the genius was born. However, then still neither his parents, nor Gianni Versace suspected that they slightly more than in thirty years his name will idolize thousands of people. Mother of future star of haute couture and pret-a-porte was fashion designer. She taught the son to knowledge of sewing. In 25 years Versace already creates pret-a-porter collections for such known Houses as Genny, Complice and Callaghan.

In 1978 with assistance of the brother Santo it opens own firm. Its first female collection which was characterized by unusual styles, original approach to use of materials and saturated flowers was the same year provided. She received a set of positive responses in the press and became the beginning of stunning career of her creator.

In 1982 Versace, by then already famous and entitled designer, tests as the costume designer in the well-known theater of the La Scala. He adored theater, the opera and the ballet. Its creations appeared in such statements as "Josephlegende" (1982), "Don Pasquale" (1984), "Salone" (1987), "Doktor Faust" (1989), and also in ballet representations of "Dionysos" (1984), "Malraux ou la Metamorphose des Dieux" (1986), "Leda and the Swan" (1987) and "Chaka Zulu" (1989). Versace is also the author of books "Designs" (1994), "Vanitas - Ricami e Decori – Decori e Ricami" (the English-language version appeared in 1994), "Men without Ties" (1994), "Do not Disturb" (1995) and "Rock and Royalty" (1996). The list of awards which awarded the couturier really impresses: in 1982 he received for an autumn and winter female collection (in which the well-known dress chain armor was represented) "Cutty Sark" and "Golden Eye" (the owner of the last the fashion designer became also in 1984, 1990 and 1991).
