Lanvin (Lanven) – one of the oldest French Houses of Haute Couture founded by the designer Jeanne Lanvin at the end of the 19th century.
The pronunciation of the name of the Lanvin brand by rules of French is unusual for the Russian perception. The termination "in" is said as an average between "and" and "э" with nasal "N". The name "Lanven" was enshrined in the Russian fashionable dictionary.

In 1908 it started this direction, having become some kind of foundress of new children's fashion. To Lanvin the clothes for children were sewed on a sample of adult. Zhanna developed special patterns on which she made dresses for kids.
In 1909 Jeanne Lanvin began to take orders for tailoring not only for children, but also for their mothers, including for the most famous women of Europe. This circumstance allowed it to join Syndicate of haute couture which gave to Jeanne Lanvin the official status of the couturier and allowed to open own Fashionable House. Later Lanvin had the logo developed by the famous artist of an era of art deco Paul Irib. On a logo the silhouette of the lady leading the girl by the hand was represented.
