D&G, Dolce&Gabbana (Dolce and Gabana) – the brand of clothes and footwear, accessories and perfumery which appeared in 1985 in Milan. Creators indigenous Italians - Domenico Dolce - the native of Sicily and Stephano Gabana – was born in the north of Italy.
At the beginning of the 80th partners open joint tiny studio in the center of Milan, create and finance the first collections. Money sometimes wasn't enough even for food – Dolce and Stephano ate rice porridge. Jointly the studio opened in 1982 after two years' work as assistants to designers produced quite interesting models. One of the first displays of studio took place in quite non-standard place – one of city cafes. In 1985 young people received the offer to participate as young talents, in this display of the Milano Collezioni models. Success of their collection was deafening, fashion designers showed clothes for "this woman - beautiful, strong, but not ideal". In 1986 Dolce and Gabana represent the collection to the show Real Woman. In the 87th year the studio of designers moves to the new place and in August they had first own shop.
