Bortolomiol

The wine-making economy of Bortolomiol was founded in 1949 by the Italian wine maker Giulio Bortolomiol whose ancestors from the middle of the 18th century were engaged in cultivation of grapes and production of wine in the neighborhood of the town of Valdobyadene.

Following in the footsteps of the father, Giulio decided to devote the life to production of wine. For this purpose he was learned at the well-known school of oenologists of Conegliano, and the first years after World War II actively was engaged in recovery of the abandoned grape sites near Valdobbyadene.

Creation of high-quality sparkling wine which according to the characteristics wouldn't yield to the best sparkling wines was his main dream. For now he had to apply many sincere forces and energies to convince the same poor Italian wine makers, as well as he, not to leave the lands and not to go down to plains, and to believe that simple wine which is served on pouring in taverns has a great future.
