Founded in 1918 by the Basque designer Cristobal Balensiagoy, the House has arisen as one of the greatest design organizations of the first decades of the XX century and has risen from ashes in the same quality a century later. Advanced by the real queens (Spanish and Belgian) and queens of the Hollywood society (Babe Paley, Gloria Ginnes, Marlene Dietrich), Balenciaga has neither more nor less changed a female silhouette.
